CC Overwhelms Dallas in Home Finale

Box Score Sixteen Tigers scored at least one goal as Colorado College overwhelmed the University of Dallas, 25-1, on Saturday afternoon in its final regular-season home game of the season.

CC, which improved to 10-4 and reached double-digit victories for the eighth year in a row, will have nearly two weeks off before it travels to Whittier College for the annual battle for the Locker-Stabler Cup.

Junior attackman Sam Sheridan led the onslaught with career highs of four goals and six points.

Senior attackman Austin Davie struck three times and added assist while playing only the first 15 minutes, and junior midfielder Jackson Kaplan recorded his first multiple-goal game with three second-half markers.

Sophomore attackman Ethan Moore dished out a game-high three assists and scored once.

Junior long-stick midfielder Grayson Kristoff scored his first career goal 16 seconds into the third quarter, while freshman long-stick middle Cooper Lee notched his first as a Tiger with 1:37 remaining in the frame.

Colorado College got at least a point from 19 different players and matched its high scoring output of the season first set in the 25-4 victory over Augustana College on Feb. 23.

The Tigers launched a season-high 62 shots, compared to only six for the Crusaders.

UD didn't take a shot until late in the second quarter when freshman midfielder Tyler Smith was denied by CC's freshman goaltender Skylar Whinery with 2:40 to go.

Colorado College won 27 of 30 faceoffs, with sophomore Parker Woo and freshman Ben Schwaeber each going 9-for-9.

Woo won the opening draw and scored the first goal just seven seconds into the contest. Davie recorded what proved to be the game-winning goal 33 seconds later as the Tigers scored eight times in the first five minutes.

Colorado College lead 11-0 after 15 minutes, 14-0 at halftime and 20-0 after three quarters.

Freshman goaltender Andrew Harwood earned the victory without making a save during the first quarter. Whinery stopped the only shot he faced during the second quarter, while sophomore Henry Hinds made three saves while playing the final 30 minutes.

Freshman goaltender Christian Lopez finished with 17 saves for the Crusaders, who finished the season with a 2-12 record. Lopez ranks third nationally averaging more than 17 saves per game.

Sophomore attackman Peter Early broke up the shutout midway through the fourth quarter with an unassisted tally, his team-leading 20th of the season.
