Haller's second tally gave CC a seven-goal lead, and then Petau added two more man-up goals after the Poets were flagged for a pair of penalties with 3:48 to play in the period.

Whittier trimmed its deficit to 13-6 when sophomores Connor Dee and Cooper Champagne scored in a span of eight seconds early in the fourth quarter, but Stern squashed any thoughts of a Poet comeback when he scored twice in 14 seconds midway through the quarter.

Colorado College will play host to Whittier on Saturday, April 28, in the annual battle for the Locker-Stabler Cup.
