Box Score Cabrini University utilized a dominant second half to defeat Colorado College, 21-10, in the second round of 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse championship on Wednesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The Cavaliers advance to the third round of the national tournament where they will face Wesleyan (Conn.) University, which defeated SUNY Cortland, 16-12.

The Tigers trailed just 10-6 after junior midfielder Tyler Borko scored the first of his two goals with 9:29 remaining in the third quarter, but Cabrini reeled off seven consecutive markers to put an end to any thoughts of a CC comeback.

Borko and senior attacker Robbie Stern each recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Colorado College attack.

Stern became only the third player in program history to produce 50 goals in a single season, joining Dick Bufkin, who scored a school-record 62 in 1998, and Austin Davie, who notched 51 in 2016.

Stern completed his career ranked seventh in school history with 129 career goals and 10th with 180 points.

Sophomore attackman Coby Petau and first-year attackman John Sutro also finished with a pair of goals.

CC took its only lead 1:17 into the contest when Sutro scored off of a feed from junior midfielder Daniel Lunghamer.    

Goals by Jordan Krug and Nicholas Waligurski gave the Cavaliers their first lead, however CC came from behind twice to level the score on tallies by Borko and Stern, who extended his goal-scoring streak to 17 games.

Timmy Brooks scored with 20 seconds remaining in the first period to give Cabrini a 4-3 lead, and the Cavaliers struck for three goals in a span of 1:13 to open a four-goal cushion nearly three minutes into the second quarter.

After Brooks scored the second of his five goals to extend Cabrini's lead to 8-3, junior midfielder Tom Haller stuck one in the net to get the Tigers back to within four.

A goal from Sean Wagner made the score 9-4, but Sutro notched his second of the game just nine seconds later to close out the first-half scoring.

Riley White stopped 10 shots during his 53:44 in the cage for the Cavaliers, who improved to 16-2.

Sophomore goaltender Andrew Harwood made 10 saves in a little more than 48 minutes for Colorado College. He stopped double-digit shots for the eighth time this season and the 15th time in two seasons.

CC won 20 of 34 faceoffs, thanks in part to the efforts of Parker Woo went 15-for-21 at the dot. The junior midfielder also grabbed a team-high seven ground balls.

Cabrini compiled a 56-33 advantage in total shots and a 36-28 edge in ground balls.

The Tigers finished the season with a 13-2 record.
