Box Score The Tigers won their third straight Locker-Stabler cup with a 15-8 victory over the Whittier College Poets on Thursday night in Whittier, California.
Declan Maguire tied his career-high four goals against the Poets and
Stephen Ruffennach forced three turnovers to tie his career high.
Colorado College has now won the last three Cup games and nine of ten since the traveling trophy was created prior to the 2011 season.
CC scored six of their 15 goals in the second period, including a natural hat trick from Maguire to build an 8-3 lead. Freshman
Roman Tacelli scored his first two goals as a Tiger, the second coming with just 38 seconds remaining in the half.
Whittier battled to start the third quarter with back to back goals to cut the deficit to 8-5 before Mackay Hansen and
Dylan Wells each earned goals for the Tigers.
Eli Turovsky made nine saves for Colorado College.
The Tigers finished with the 30-20 edge in ground balls and won the face-off battle 14-12.
Colorado College finished with the 40-27 advantage in total shots.
