Zeke Lubin, a junior on the Colorado College men's soccer team from Denver, Colo., was named the SCAC Character and Community Male Athlete of the Week. 
 
The SCAC Character & Community Award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in athletics and serve their campus and community.
 
Lubin is an officer for Colorado College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a student-led group on campus that advocates for student-athletes, improves their experience, and builds community through service projects and community events. 
 
"It's my job as a SAAC officer to serve as a liaison between the student-athlete body and the administrative staff," Lubin said. "It's a really great opportunity to get involved on and off campus." 
 
Lubin, along with the other SAAC officers, represents the student-athlete body at CC and meets regularly with other staff and faculty members from around Colorado College to enhance the student-athlete experience. 
 
"We try to better the experience for student-athletes on campus and serve as that buffer between student-athletes and the college, and we aim always to come together to grow and impact Colorado College." 
 
SAAC also partners with Colorado Springs organizations, such as TESSA of Colorado Springs. This non-profit organization provides confidential support and services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. 
 
Lubin, along with the rest of the CC men's soccer team, has been in partnership with the Switchbacks Unified Team for the last couple of seasons, where the Tigers have hosted scrimmages with the Unified Team and then attended one of its own games at Weidner Field, home of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. 
 
The Unified Team is a professional soccer team created through a partnership with Special Olympics Colorado, uniting athletes with and without disabilities on the same team.
