87 Years of Tiger Hockey
This season marks the 87th year of varsity ice hockey at Colorado College and 13th season as a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. CC was a charter member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (1951-52) for 62 seasons before joining the NCHC with seven other schools prior to the 2013-14 campaign.

The Tigers split a pair of games with No. 4 North Dakota last weekend at Robson Arena ... On Friday,
Philippe Blais-Savoie scored two minutes into overtime and
Kaidan Mbereko had a season-high 37 saves in a 3-2 victory. Blais-Savoie took a cross-ice pass from Wilson Björck, raced down the left side and fired a wrist shot past UND goalie Jan Spunar from the top of the left circle to give the Tigers the extra point in the NCHC standings and Spunar (23 saves) his first loss of the season. North Dakota struck first when Ellis Rickwood scored at the 6:18 mark of the first period. Mbereko saved shots from Will Zellers and Mac Swanson in front of the net, but Rickwood scored with a backhander from the slot.
Drew Montgomery, from Grand Forks, N.D., evened the game with a wrist shot from the left circle that hit the far post and in past Spunar just 1:33 into the second period.
Seth Constance collected the assist on Montgomery's second goal of the season.
Ryan Alexander gave the Tigers their first lead of the game at the 9:50 mark of the middle frame.
Connor Hvidston's shot from the right circle was blocked by a UND defender in front and Alexander scored while falling to the ice at the left post. The Tigers had a golden chance to extend the lead midway through the third period, but Spunar stopped a breakaway by
Mateo Mrsic at the 10:20 mark. With Spunar on the bench, UND tied the game with 2:09 remaining in the final frame as Ben Strinden put the puck past Mbereko during a scrum in front of the Tiger net. Colorado College had to withstand a North Dakota power play for the final 36 seconds of the third period and first 1:24 of the overtime after Björck was called for boarding ... On Saturday,
Mats Lindgren scored the first two goals of his career, but UND claim a 5-2 victory. Lindgren, who joined the Tiger program over the Winter Break, collected his first career goal to open the scoring at the 9:30 mark of the first period.
Gavin Lindberg took the puck from behind the net to the right of Spunar and found Lindgren, who scored into the open net from the right circle.
Dylan James evened things up just 31 seconds into the second period with a power-play tally. Keaton Verhoff sent the puck from the left circle towards the far post and it deflected off James' skate past Mbereko. Bennett Zmolek gave the Fighting Hawks the lead at 4:58 of the middle frame when he took a cross-ice pass from Cole Reschny and put a shot from the right circle through Mbereko's legs. The Fighting Hawks put the game away with three goals in the first 11:22 of the third period. Tyler Young scored at the 3:26 mark, followed by Abram Wiebe at 6:25 to make it 4-1. After
Jackson Unger replaced Mbereko at the 11:44 mark, Reschny notched UND's final tally when he scored on a rebound after Unger made a save on Ben Strinden. Lindgren potted his second goal of the game at the 16:13 mark when
Bret Link found him streaking down the left side and he beat Spunar with a wrister from the top of the left circle.
The Coaches
Kris Mayotte is in his fifth season at the helm of the Tigers. He came to Colorado College after serving two years as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan, and was an assistant coach for Providence College when the Friars won the NCAA Division I title in 2015. Mayotte was the NCHC Coach of the Year following the 2023-24 campaign … Mark Coletta has been the head coach at Simon Fraser since 2008.

Mats Lindgren Added to 2025-26 Roster
Defenseman
Mats Lindgren has been added to the 2025-26 roster, effective immediately. Lindgren, a fourth-round pick (#106 overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 NHL Draft from North Vancouver, B.C., most recently played during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 21 points (7g,14a) in 56 games for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and appearing in seven games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Prior to that, he played five seasons in the WHL between the Kamloops Blazers and Red Deer Rebels, collecting 129 points (24g,105a) in 220 games.
Björck Wins Gold at World Junior Championship
Freshman Wilson Björck won a gold medal with Team Sweden at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship. Team Sweden defeated Czechia, 4-2, in the final Monday in St. Paul, Minn. Björck is the third Colorado College player to win gold at the World Junior Championship, joining Mark Stuart (team caotain) and Brett Sterling, who helped Team USA win its first title in 2004. The winger from Stockholm, Sweden, appeared in three games for Team Sweden during the '26 tournament, including the 4-3 overtime semifinal victory over Finland and the final.

Most NHL Draft Picks on Roster in Program History
With the addition of
Mats Lindgren, the 2025-26 roster has 10 players that have been drafted by the NHL. That ties for the most on a roster in program history, joining the 2003-04 and '04-05 rosters.
Oh Brother
Freshmen Tomas and
Mateo Mrsic are the 21st set of brothers to play hockey together at Colorado College and the first since Cody (2012-16) and Trey Bradley (2015-19) during the 2015-16 season. Other prominent brothers to lace their skates up at the same time in Colorado Springs include the only two NHL first-round draft picks from CC, Jaden (St. Louis, 2010) and Rylan Schwartz played together from 2010-12, while Mark Stuart (Boston, 2003) played two years with each of his older brothers, Mike from 2000-02 and Colin from 2002-04. Marty Sertich, the 2005 Hobey Baker winner, and his brother, Mike, played together at CC during the '04-05 campaign.

CC to Have 15 Games Televised This Season
Colorado College announced that 15 games will be broadcast live on television this season, including 12 games by partner SOCO CW. SOCO CW is available to viewers throughout Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Southern Colorado. In addition, KRDO-13 (ABC) in Colorado Springs will televise two games.
Season Five at Robson Arena
Never in the storied 80-plus years history of Colorado College Tiger Hockey had the team played its home games on campus. Thanks to the generosity of donors, including former CC hockey player Ed Robson '54 the school's Board of Trustees, that changed on October 8, 2021, when the Tigers and St. Lawrence battled in the first regular-season game at Ed Robson Arena. Colorado College was one of nine Division I teams to surpass capacity on a per game basis last season at 106.7 percent. The capacity of Robson Arena is 3,407 and CC averaged an attendance of 3,634 in its 17 home games.
