Tigers Head East For Roadtrip At No. 5 Salisbury & DeSales

Colorado College men's lacrosse opens a two-game road swing this week with a midweek matchup at No. 5 Salisbury on Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. MT before traveling to DeSales on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. MT.

Last Time Out
Colorado College (6-1) extended its winning streak to six games with a 15-7 victory over Calvin on March 14. The Tigers controlled the game on both ends, outscoring the Knights in three of four quarters while continuing to showcase one of the most balanced attacks in the country.
 

On a Roll
CC enters the week averaging 17.57 goals per game while allowing just 7.86 goals per contest. The Tigers have outscored opponents 123-55 this season while posting a .341 shooting percentage and holding opponents to .223 shooting. CC has also controlled possession with a 64.3% faceoff win rate and a .913 clear percentage.
 

Leading the Charge
Sophomore Aidan Niklaus leads the Tigers with 36 points (20 goals, 16 assists), while sophomore Matt Hudson has added 29 points on a team-high 21 goals. Senior Gavin Pope has contributed 20 points, giving CC three players with at least 20 points through seven games.

In goal, junior Robert Spence has anchored the defense with a 6-1 record, posting a 7.54 goals-against average and a .634 save percentage.
 

Scouting No. 5 Salisbury
No. 5 Salisbury enters Wednesday's matchup with a 6-1 overall record and one of the most complete profiles in Division III. The Sea Gulls are averaging 16.43 goals per game while allowing 8.29 goals per contest, outscoring opponents 115-58 this season.

Connor Herraiz leads Salisbury with 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists), while Riley Strub has totaled 23 points and Chris Wong has scored a team-high 18 goals. Preston Huffman has added 20 points, giving Salisbury multiple scoring threats.

At the faceoff X, Blake Malamphy has been dominant, winning 124-of-168 attempts (73.8%) while collecting 90 ground balls, helping Salisbury control possession at a 71.6% team faceoff rate.

Defensively, Salisbury has limited opponents to a .271 shooting percentage and owns a .925 clear rate.

The Sea Gulls most recently defeated Ohio Northern 16-7 and have won two straight since their lone loss of the season.
 

Scouting DeSales
DeSales enters Saturday's matchup with a 1-6 overall record and is coming off a 15-11 loss to Sewanee. The Bulldogs are averaging 9.43 goals per game while allowing 14.86 goals per contest, being outscored 104-66 through seven games.

Jason Reilly and TJ Kearns lead the offense with 13 points each, while Jake Hurd has totaled 14 points in four games. Connor Bourdon, Colin Getz, and Seth Young have each added nine points.

As a team, DeSales is shooting .270 and has won 43.4% of faceoffs while posting a .739 clear percentage. Defensively, the Bulldogs have forced 63 caused turnovers but have allowed opponents to shoot .334.
