Colorado College claimed three silver awards at the prestigious National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) "Best Of" Awards Ceremony for its marketing of CC athletic programs during the 2025-26 academic year.
The CC Athletics Marketing team, led by
Scott Lowenberg, senior associate athletic director for external relations, and
Jessica Bennett, associate athletic director for marketing & fan experience, won the silver medal in Group III for Branded Dynamic Collateral, Viral Social Initiative and Sport Specific Brand Campaign.
Branded Dynamic Collateral – Hockey Intro Video: Wanting the fans to bring the energy and create the home-ice atmosphere in Ed Robson Arena. Immediately after the visiting team introductions, and just before our starting lineup is announced, this video brings our fans to their feet! Our production team edits the video after Friday night games to include highlights from the game prior.
Viral Social Initiative – 'Does It Hurt The Horse?': Our staff was at practice on Tuesday, December 9, capturing behind-the-scenes content leading into an away weekend conference series. We filmed a short clip of our equipment manager changing the skate blade for a student-athlete – an everyday task within the hockey world that often goes unnoticed by fans. The video ultimately became the most viral moment (5.8 million views) on our hockey accounts for the season. It demonstrated that compelling storytelling doesn't always require high production or on ice highlights.
Sport Specific Brand Campaign – Women's Soccer C4C Cup: Colorado College hosted the fourth annual 2025 City For Champions Cup: Colorado College Women's Soccer vs. Air Force at Weidner Field, home of Colorado Springs Switchbacks F.C. Our campaign was focused on our motto, "Championship Culture" and highlighting top collegiate athletic competition on a professional stage. Several elements were implemented across different platforms to increase reach and visibility. The overall goal, to highlight women's athletics in Colorado Springs, the "City For Champions", and increase attendance, not just generally but specifically local youth soccer clubs and the Colorado College community. We worked with several members from the community, Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, Wiedner Field, Visit Colorado Springs, and many others to make our campaign come to life.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA "Best Of" awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness.
