Buck McKenna won 12 of 14 faceoffs and
Carson Christman scored four goals and added an assist to lead Colorado College to a 10-2 victory against Manhattanville College on Sunday afternoon at Washburn Field.
The Tigers improved to 1-2 while the Valiants dropped to 1-2.
Christman struck for back-to-back goals 54 seconds apart midway through the third quarter, and then set up a tally by Charley Perkins with 3:22 remaining in the third quarter to give the Tigers a 7-1 advantage with 15 minutes to play.
Goals by Toby Cohen and Moses Taylor gave Colorado College an early lead, but the Tigers had to wait just over eight minutes before Christman made the score 3-0 with his first marker of the game.
Danny Hannon put Manhattanville on the board with 10:03 remaining in the second quarter after taking a feed from Andrew McMillin, but the Valiants would go more than 30 minutes before Joey Hasbrouck would add their second and final goal with 9:43 to play in the fourth quarter.
Scott MacArthur made 10 saves to earn the victory in goal for CC. Andrew Predun stopped 17 shots for Manhattanville, which was out-shot 56-17.
McKenna paced the Tiger defense with seven ground balls.
Perkins finished with two goals, while Taylor and Chris Love scored twice and set up a third goal.
Colorado College will return to action on Wednesday when the Tigers play host to the University of New England.
