Junior attacker Leslie Jacoby struck for a career-high five goals to lead Colorado College to a 16-6 victory over Pacific University on Friday night at Lincoln Park Stadium.
The Tigers seized control of the game when Jacoby ignited an 8-1 run with her second goal almost eight minutes unto the game. Jacoby and Grace Maloney found the net three times apiece as CC built a 10-3 lead with 1:40 remaining in the first half.
Maloney scored what proved to be the game-winning goal on a free-position shot with 10:24 to play until the break. The junior midfielder added a pair of assists to complete a five-point night.
Abby Fink finished with 11 saves, five of which were on free-position shots by the Boxers. Colorado College converted on two of four free-position chances, while Pacific went 1-for-7.
Carmen Taplin gave Pacific a boost when she scored with 28 seconds to play in the first half, but the momentum dissipated quickly when the Tigers tacked on the first three goals of the second half.
Frances Staadt and Lara Atkins each had a pair of goals for CC, which finished with a 36-22 advantage in shots.
Brittany Hartmann stopped 19 shots for the Boxers, which was just one off the school record. Monica Smith led the attack with two goals and an assist.
CC improved to 7-1, while Pacific slipped to 7-4.
Colorado College continues its two-game road trip in the Pacific Northwest on Sunday when the Tigers visit the University of Puget Sound.
