Hall headed to nationals

Frank joins junior classmate earning all-region accolades

While Nick Hall and Graham Frank repeated as all-region selections Saturday by finishing among the top 35 individuals at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships in Claremont, Calif., Hall will continue his junior season at the national meet next week.

Hall's 8K clocking of 25:20.78 was good for an eighth-place individual showing, as the Tigers took 11th in the team standings.

Frank, meanwhile, ran a season-best 26:23.76 to take 32nd.

Host Pomona-Pitzer College, one of 18 schools represented at the competition, won the team title with 71 points. CC had 270.

"We had higher hopes," said Ted Castaneda, CC's head coach. "But we're still young; we knew that. I think we've laid a foundation for next year, when qualifying for nationals will be a big goal for our team."

Another junior, Will Richmond, claimed 40th with a time of 26:38.04.

Rounding out Colorado College's contingent of seven were sophomores Jacob Rothman (27:57.32) and Tucker Hampson (28:04.76), followed by freshmen Ezra Coopersmith (28:05.75) and Conor Terhune (28:56.10).

The NCAA Division III national meet will take place next Saturday in Hanover, Ind.
