Box Score 2 Abbe Holtze, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Pikes Peak Challenge, led No. 9 Colorado College to a pair of victories and the tournament title on Saturday at Reid Arena.
The junior outside hitter recorded a double-double in each of the four matches she played this weekend.
Holtze began the day with a team-high 12 kills and 10 digs against No. 15 Elmhurst College and ended the day with a season-high 19 kills and 13 digs against Cornell College.
With the pair of victories, the Tigers have tied their best start to the season with a 19-1 record. The first time CC won 19 of its first 20 games was 2013, when the Tigers finished the season with a 35-5 record.
The Tigers dominated No. 15 Elmhurst, cruising to a 25-19, 25-19, 25-23 victory in the first match of the day.

Sophie Merrifield, who an all-tournament selection, led the defense with 12 digs, while sophomore
Reagan Folaron added 10 digs to aid the back row.
CC posted a .252 attack percentage against the Blue Jays with the help of sophomore
Sarah Barker, who dished out a team-best 23 assists.
Colorado College finished the day with a 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19 win over Cornell College to clinch the tournament title.
The Tigers offense, who outhit the Rams 63-48 in kills, was orchestrated by senior
Courtney Birkett with 28 assists. Junior
Rebecca Watson and Barker also added 15 and 13 assists, respectively.
Birkett,also an all-tournament selection, finished the tournament with her fourth triple-double of the season on 28 assists, 13 kills and 13 digs against Cornell.
Merrifield led the back row during the final match with 21 digs.
Colorado College returns to the road next week for Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches in Irving, Texas. The Tigers play Austin College and the University of Dallas on Oct. 10, and close out the trip against Centenary College on Oct. 11.
