After DeFrino's second tally pulled the Tigers to within 6-3 with 6:49 remaining in the first half, the Fords struck for seven unanswered goals to build a 13-3 lead with 23:14 left on the clock.

Junior Megan Chenworth stopped three shots during almost 50 minutes in goal. First-year goaltender Rachel Romens made one save during the final 10:34.
