Three Colorado College women's tennis players were named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference second team on Friday after a vole of the league's head coaches.
Â
Freshmen
Christina Heffron and
Maddy Meister were named for singles, while Meister and junior
Olivia Dicks were selected as a doubles team.
Â
Heffron played all but one dual match at the No. 1 singles position, posting a 12-9 overall record and an 8-4 mark against Division III opponents. She capped the season with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Anamaria Gonzoles of the University of St. Thomas, helping the Tigers win the third-place match at the SCAC Tournament, the best finish for CC since 2018.
Â
Meister, meanwhile, tied Heffron for the team lead with 12 singles victories during the season, with seven of them coming at the No. 2 position. She finished the season with a four-match winning streak, all against Division III foes.
Â
Meister combined with Dicks to post a 6-8 record at the No. 1 doubles spot during the '21-22 campaign. The duo collected a 6-4 mark against Division III opponents.
Â
"We are really excited to have such strong representation on the all-conference teams," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "It is a very tough conference with a couple of nationally ranked programs. This is still a team award as this was one of the deepest teams we've had in my 10 years at CC. This is going to be a fun group to see grow over the next few years."
