Tigers Set For SCAC Tournament

The Colorado College volleyball team (17-9, 12-3 SCAC), which captured the Blue Division title in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, will compete in the league tournament this weekend in Sherman, TX.
 
CC will be the No. 2 overall seed, facing the No. 7-seeded University of St. Thomas in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. (CT). The Tigers, who are 12-3 in conference play this season, look to return to the title match for the third consecutive year, after falling to Trinity in the final last year.

Regular Season Wrap
The Tigers finished first in the Blue Division, clinching the title, posting an overall record of 17-9 and a 12-3 conference record. Trailing CC in the Blue Division were Austin College, McMurry and St. Thomas. The Gold Division is led by the reigning SCAC champions, Trinity.
 
The winner of the CC-St. Thomas match will take on the winner of the Southwestern-McMurry match in the semifinal on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. (CT).
 
Last Time Out
CC closed out the 2024 regular season with a pair of SCAC victories in Austin, TX, defeating Concordia 3-1, and Schreiner, 3-0. The Tigers fell to Texas Lutheran the day prior, 3-2.
 
CC had its five-match winning streak snapped by Texas Lutheran, after a close fifth and deciding set. Carolyn Dormady led the Tigers with 15 kills, followed by Brooke Brilliant with 13 and Camille Sherrill with 12. Annie Steger posted a match-high 39 digs.
 
In the match vs. Concordia, the Tigers rolled through the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-20, while Concordia took the third set 25-22. CC claimed the victory with a 25-21 win in the fourth set. Sherrill led the Tigers with 18 kills, followed by Dormady with 11 kills and a team-high .250 hitting percentage. Annie Steger phenomenally collected 42 assists with just two setting errors. Steger also led the Tigers with 18 digs, followed by Megan Gannon with 16.
 
Against Schreiner, CC dominated yet again as Dormady led the way with 15 kills and 12 digs, while Sherrill and Brooke Brilliant finished with 10 kills apiece. Steger collected 36 assists, while Gannon finished with 11 digs, and Camden Goodman recorded nine.
 
Scouting the Tournament
While CC battles St. Thomas, No. 3 seed Southwestern and No. 6 seed McMurry will face off for a chance to appear in the Semifinal match.
 
In the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed Trinity faces No. 8 seed Schreiner, while No. 4 Austin College will take on No. 5 seed Texas Lutheran in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 15.
 
The championship match is scheduled to take place at Austin College on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. (CT).
