Tigers Top SCAC With 73 Student-Athletes on Winter Honor Roll

Colorado College student-athletes turned in another impressive performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 winter season and ranked first in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with 73 earning a spot on the league's Academic Honor Roll.
 
More than 85 percent of the Tigers who competed in the four winter sports sponsored by the SCAC were recognized for posting a minimum 3.25 grade-point average during the most recent semester.
 
The women's basketball team had all 15 players honored for a perfect 100 percent, while the men's swimming and diving team had the most recipients with 24.

"We are so proud of the academic achievements of our student-athletes and they directly reflect our goals of holistic excellence," Vice President and Director of Athletics Lesley Irvine said. "Congratulations to all of our CC Tigers – their commitment and hard work in the classroom is truly inspiring."
 
Audrey Bayston (women's basketball), Annie Bowens (women's swimming & diving), Trey Crawford (men's basketball), Taylor Harris (men's basketball), Emma Nawara (women's basketball), Emma Phillips (women's swimming & diving), Sabrina Pitkanen (women's swimming & diving), Tony Saenz (men's swimming & diving), Eric Uerling (men's swimming & diving) and Will Young (men's swimming & diving) added their names to the list of 201 Tigers who earned the distinction four consecutive years.
 
Women's basketball rising senior Zoe Tomlinson, a two-time All-American and Academic All-American selection this year, headlined CC's list of 29 honor roll recipients who also earned all-conference honors in their respective sports. Tomlinson also received the prestigious SCAC Elite 19 Award, which is presented to the junior or senior student-athlete with the highest GPA of at least 3.25 in the sport, has at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and earned all-conference honors.
 
The other 28 student-athletes who were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom as well as in their respective sports are: Audrey Bayston (women's basketball), Healy Bledsoe (women's basketball), Lucio Bollittieri (men's swimming & diving), Annie Bowens (women's swimming & diving), Logan Browne (men's swimming & diving), Sarah Buchman (women's swimming & diving), Edmund Davis (men's swimming & diving), Grace Ersfeld-O'Brien (women's swimming & diving), Tomas Gonzalez (men's swimming & diving), Jack Hussin (men's swimming & diving), Rose Koehler (women's basketball), Emma Krasemann (women's swimming & diving), Alexis Lee (women's swimming & diving), Kayla Mackel (women's basketball), Asher Nofziger (men's basketball), Miles Nordling (men's swimming & diving), Caleb Peimann (men's swimming & diving), Emma Phillips (women's swimming & diving), Keller Pooley (women's swimming & diving), Collin Ralston (men's swimming & diving), Aidan Richter (men's swimming & diving), Edgar Romero (men's basketball), Scott Ruegg (men's basketball), Dax Sherwood (men's swimming & diving), Megan Simonson (women's swimming & diving), Alyssa Tunggal (women's swimming & diving), Eric Uerling (men's swimming & diving) and Wyatt Wellehan (men's swimming & diving).
 
Colorado College had 21 more recipients than Trinity University, which finished second with 52. Southwestern University was third with 41.
 
Since the inception of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll in 1997, more than 34,500 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their exemplary performances in the classroom.
