The Colorado College track and field teams head to Abilene, Texas, April 24-26, for the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The SCAC Championships will begin on Friday, April, 24, with javelin and long jump, beginning at 3 p.m. (CT). Events will start at 8 a.m. (CT) on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26.

Last Time Out
Rabbit Barnes broke his own school record in the 1500-meter run by more than four seconds Saturday night at the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, Calif.
Â
Barnes finished the 'Invite' section of the 1500, primarily consisting of Division I and II runners, in 64
th place with a time of 3:44.60, the second-fastest time in Division III this season and surpassing his previous record of 3:49.04.

Four other Tigers competed at the Bryan Clay Invite, including
Josh Williams, who finished 22
nd in the 400 with a time of 47.89 seconds and 29
th in the 200 in 21.64.

Alison Mueller-Hickler finished 55
th in the women's  'Open A' 5K with a personal-best time of 16:57.26, while
Allison Barker was 20
th in the 'Open B' 1500 in 4:31.31, also a personal-best time and the 18
th-fastest in Division III this season.

Charlie Flint placed 45
th in the 'Open A' 10K with a time of 36:22.54.

Barnes, Barker Sweep SCAC Weekly Track Award
Based on their outstanding performances last week, Barnes and Berker were named the SCAC Male and Female Tack Athlete of the Week, respectively.

Last Year at the SCAC Meet
Both teams finished third at the 2025 SCAC Outdoor Championships in Seguin, Texas. Barnes won the 1500 for the third straight year and the 800 for the second.
Will Shuflit also doubled as the champion in the 5K and 10K. On the women's side,
Clara Lippert captured the 400 title.

Previewing This Year's Meet
Several Tigers enter this weekend's conference meet with the top mark in the SCAC.

On the men's side, Barnes holds the league's fastest time and the third-fastest in Division III with a school-record 3:44.60. Williams owns the fastest time in the 200, while
Axel Klomparens and
Vincent Mangat have the No. 1 time in the 10K and 3,000 steeplechase, respectively.

In the field events,
Oliver Smeal is No. 1 in the SCAC in the javelin with a school-record toss of 209' 7".

For the women,
Alison Mueller-Hickler holds the top spot in the 5K and 10K, while
Allison Barker is No. 1 in the 800 and 1500.
Thalia Goessling has the best time in the 400, as does
Hannah Falk in the 3,000 steeplechase.
