Freshmen Mary Edman and Maggie Harwood both had perfect singles matches as they led the Colorado College women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Colorado Christian University on Thursday afternoon in Lakewood, Colo.
 
Edman had her perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory over Grace Christian at the No. 5 singles position to earn her second victory of the season without dropping a single point. With the win, Edman improved to 7-3 on the season at No. 5 singles.
 
Harwood earned her 6-0, 6-0 victory against Kaitlin Cox at No. 6 singles for her best match of the season.  This was the first match this season that Harwood did not drop a point during singles play.
 
Maddy Bush had a strong showing at No. 4 singles as she beat Chelsea Snow, 6-1, 6-0. This was the third match this season where Bush dropped just one point during singles play as she improved to 8-3 on the season at the No. 4 singles position.
 
Caila Criss earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Cameron Shelby at No. 3 singles, while Katie Patterson finished singles play for the Tigers with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Ashley Cobb at No. 2 singles.
 
During doubles play, CC swept all three doubles points to help earn its 8-1 victory.
 
Deanna Thirkell and Edman beat Elizabeth Vertin and Snow, 8-1 at the No. 1 doubles position. Anna Sweeney and Bush also earned an 8-1 victory against Christian and Cox at the No. 3 doubles position.
 
Criss and Patterson finished doubles play with a tough 8-5 victory over Kara Williams and Shelby at the No. 2 position to complete the double's sweep.
 
Colorado College improved to 10-8 on the season and travels to Conway, Ark. for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Apr. 27.
