No. 7 Southwestern handed No. 8 CC 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 setback in the Regional Semifinal of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships on Saturday afternoon in Dallas, Texas. With the loss the Tigers ended their season with a 28-6 record.

Abbe Holtze led the Tigers for the final time in her career with 12 kills and added nine digs defensively. Freshman right-side hitter
Haley Harris added a career-high 10 kills, while freshman setter
Lizzy Counts recorded 31 assists and 11 digs for her 17th double-double of the season.

AÂ kill from Harris gave Colorado College an 18-16 lead in the first set, but a service error and a block by the SU's Kate Mitchell and Kirby Kincannon tied the score. The Pirates ran off three more points when Jamison Duck served an ace, Kincannon added a kill and then teamed up with Mitchell for a block to give Southwestern a 21-19 lead. The Pirates scored four of the final eight points to win the set 25-23.

The second set was tied early at 5-5 when a kill by Southwestern's Piper Sisemore ignited a 4-0 run to give the Pirates a 9-5 lead. The Tigers were unable to get closer than four points the remainder of the set, dropping a 25-19 decision.

Harris cut SU's lead to 11-10 midway through the third set on a kill, but that was as close as CC would get as the Pirates went on a 9-4 run to take a 20-14 advantage. A service ace at match point by Kincannon ended the set at 25-19.

Southwestern (32-4) was led by Duck with 12 kills and 16 digs, while Mitchell and Haley Yu added 10 kills apiece. Andie Alford anchored the defense with 18 digs.

The Pirates hit a .269 attack percentage on 47 kills in 130 attempts with 12 errors, while the Tigers were only able to hit 39 kills in 139 attempts with 19 errors for a .144 hitting percentage.
