Last Time Out
The Tigers hosted UTSA last Sunday and settled for a 0-0 draw with the Roadrunners.
Three players had multiple shots; junior
Kendall Memoly, senior
Makenna Kolson, and sophomore
Finley Schoenbeck all had two shots (one on net). Junior goalkeeper
Regan Wallace finished with five saves.
Memoly nearly had the game-winner in the 38th minute, which hit the top crossbar and bounced out of harm's way.
Defensive Fortitude
CC's defense has been terrific through the first five games. It's the first time since 2008 that the Tigers have surrendered only two goals at this point in the season.
Tiger Tails
Junior midfielder
Kendall Memoly continues to be the team's leading scorer. She has all of CC's four goals this season, which include two multi-goal games against NM State and Canisius.
She leads the team in most shots with 12, followed by Schoenbeck, who has 11.
Junior goalkeeper
Regan Wallace is tied 16th in the country in goals-against average, surrendering only 0.400 goals per contest. The California native has three shutouts, tied for the eighth most in the nation.
CC has the second-best goals-against average in the Mountain West behind Colorado State. Wallace is also third in the conference in saves per game with 5.20.
Scouting The Opposition
UC San Diego comes into Thursday with a 1-1-3 record. The Tritons have three ties with Northern Arizona, San Diego State and Pacific. They beat UNLV on Aug. 24 for their first win of the season.
Redshirt freshman Ava Tibor leads the team with four goals. Like Memoly, Tibor also has two braces this year.
